Sophie Turner has revealed how an innocent wave at a party accidentally destroyed a Hollywood couple's engagement. The Game of Thrones star shared the dramatic story during her appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers whilst promoting her new film The Dreadful alongside fellow Game of Thrones alum Kit Harington.
The incident occurred at a San Diego Comic-Con afterparty in 2014 when Turner was just 19 years old. She had brought her childhood friend to the event, and the friend spotted an actor she admired from across the room.
The Wave That Changed Everything
Turner explained how her friend asked her to say hello to the actor on her behalf. Since Turner didn't recognise the man, she simply waved at him before continuing with her evening.
Later that night, Turner approached a famous actress to express her admiration. However, the encounter took an unexpected turn when the actress confronted her with an accusation.
The actress said: "Can you stop flirting with my fiancé?" When Turner asked who the fiancé was, the woman pointed to the same actor Turner had waved at earlier.

The engaged couple broke off their relationship that very night. Turner laughed as she recounted the aftermath, saying the breakup was "apparently because of my wave."
