The public can now vote for their favorite nature photograph from 24 exceptional images shortlisted for the Wildlife Photographer of the Year's Nuveen People's Choice Award. Voting is open globally online and at the Natural History Museum exhibition in London, with the winning entry and four runners-up to be announced on March 25.
The shortlisted images were selected from more than 60,000 entries to the annual competition. They showcase diverse subjects ranging from wildlife behavior to environmental threats. Voters can cast their ballots at https://bit.ly/NuveenPeoplesChoiceAward2026 or on digital screens at the museum's flagship exhibition.
Dr Douglas Gurr, director of the Natural History Museum in London, encouraged global participation: «No matter where you are in the world, it's time to join the jury and vote in the Nuveen People's Choice Award to select the photograph set for display in our flagship exhibition here at the Natural History Museum. Whether showcasing fascinating behaviour or platforming a powerful story, this year's selection of images is truly exceptional, and we can't wait to see which one will be chosen as the public's favourite.»
The competition previously announced 100 winning images in October. The shortlisted photographs document both the beauty of the natural world and its challenges.

Featured subjects include flamingos under power lines, a sloth sheltering its baby from rain, and a juvenile swimming crab hitching a ride on a jellyfish at night. Other images show a pangolin pup in a rescue centre, a bear taking shelter in a furnace with a butterfly on its nose, and a polar bear family resting in summer heat.
The selection also includes young kestrels preparing to fledge, a "superpod" of spinner dolphins, a pile of confiscated snares from a Ugandan national park, and bear cubs play-fighting in a road silhouetted against car headlights.
The winning photographs will be showcased at the Natural History Museum exhibition following the March 25 announcement.
