Amerykański zespół death metalowy założony w 1991 roku w stanie New Jersey. Grupa od początku postawiła na połączenie brutalności z technicznym podejściem do kompozycji. Debiutancki album Sickening Erotic Fanaticism ukazał się w 1993 roku i od razu pokazał charakterystyczne brzmienie zespołu. W kolejnych latach Mortal Decay wydał m.in. Forensic oraz A Gathering of Human Artifacts, konsekwentnie rozwijając swój styl. Teksty zespołu często oscylują wokół mrocznych, makabrycznych tematów, co dobrze wpisuje się w tradycję brutal death metalu lat 90. Mortal Decay do dziś cieszy się szacunkiem wśród fanów technicznego death metalu i pozostaje aktywnym elementem amerykańskiego undergroundu.
