Rectangular, baluster-shaped, hard porcelain snuffbox mounted in gold (375 thousandths), with polychrome decoration of bouquets of flowers, the lid imitating wickerwork and hinged, the interior painted with a bust portrait of Auguste III (1696-1763), King of Poland and Elector of Saxony, after an official portrait painted by Louis de Silvestre. Crack on the lid. Meissen Manufactory, mid 18th century. No apparent mark. H. 3.5 x W. 8.5 x D. 6.7 cm. Gross weight: 160.9 g.
