other communication forms of what is expected – silence of a medium, unconditioned reflexes, sound of decentralized network
We invite you for a guided tour and introduction to selected projects presented at the “superuser_do” exhibition at the WRO Art Center. Other communication forms emerge here – unexpected, non- mainstream approaches to media tools and artistic methodologies developed by graduates of media art departments across art academies in Poland. Alternative conditions, process-based observations, and long-term actions suggest a shift beyond dominant social and technological models, toward reclaiming agency. Different kinds of intelligence and perception unfold. A speculative concept of mycelium as a framework of decentralized forms of communication. A simple system, low-tech aesthetics, signal conversion – yet a powerful outcome in the form of an organically modulated audiosphere. An intimate engagement with image-making and recording process: a tender study of a medium – an analog camera gradually disembodied. Other approaches to image capture and a performative process of exposure. A self-portrait as a self-reflexive strategy, yet one that resists narcissism. A choreography of an uncanny object-body driven by a servo-mechanical system, staging a moment of encounter with the other. An embodiment of human fascination with, and fantasies of, control, domination, and artificial life.
Disruption, shifts, reconsideration – otherwise.
