Zespół Diamond Head powstał w UK w połowie lat 70-tych XX wieku i jest uznawany za jednego z pionierów NWOBHM. Bardzo lubię niektóre płyty, szczególnie te z początkowego okresu - przede wszystkim "Borrowed Time" z 1982 roku. W tym okresie panowie bardzo mocno nawiązywali do klasycznych motywów Fantasy. Na okładce wspomnianej płyty jest choćby grafa przedstawiająca postać Elryka stworzoną przez samego mistrza M. Moorcocka. Na płycie znajduje się także ich najbardziej znany kawałek, czyli "Am I Evil?", który stał się bardzo znany ze względu na jeden z najbardziej rozpoznawalnych riffów w historii Heavy Metalu i cover nagrany przez pewien zespół na literę M.
